Old-fashioned
Call Me Old-fashioned
A variation on the old-fashioned that works almost as well.
2 shots Rémy Martin cognac
1/4 shot Sugar syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: Orange zest twist
Add one shot of cognac to the glass with two ice cubes. Stir with a bar spoon, then add the sugar syrup and bitters and two more ice cubes and stir some more. Add another shot of cognac and two more ice cubes and stir some more.

Martini
Dandy Cocktail
An easier drinking variation on the Manhattan, the Dubonnet really marries well with the bourbon.
1 1/2 shots Woodford Reserve Bourbon
1 1/2 shots Dubonnet Red
1/2 shot Cointreau
1 dash Angostura bitters
Garnish: Orange and lemon zest twists
Shake ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass.

Elderflower Manhattan
Switching St-Germain for sweet vermouth makes for a perfumed and approachable Manhattan.
2 shots Woodford Reserve Bourbon
1 shot St-Germain Elderflower Liqueur
1/2 shot Dry vermouth
2 dashes Angostura bitters
Garnish: Maraschino cherry
Shake ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass.

2 shots Woodford Reserve Bourbon
1/2 shot Luxardo maraschino liqueur
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 dashes Fee Brothers orange bitters
1/2 shot Chilled water
Garnish: Maraschino cherry
Shake ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass.
